Let me see. . . when I was a little girl, my father used to carry me about Highgarden on his shoulders. I used to love being so much higher up than everyone and able to see everything.
Another happy memory. . . the first time my grandmother complimented my intelligence. Compliments from the Queen of Thorns were hard to come by, especially compliments regarding one's mind.
There was also my tenth birthday feast at Highgarden. We had singers in and jugglers and ten courses, one for each year of my life. The dessert was made with rosewater harvested from the famous golden roses of the Tyrells.
Then, there was the first time I went to a tourney. Knights from all over the Reach competed for the victor's crown and the right to crown a Queen of Love and Beauty. I was but fourteen at the time, so I never expected to be chosen but I was. I couldn't stop smiling for days.
And there was my first kiss. It was with the tourney knight who crowned me Queen of Love and Beauty. He was older than I and from a much lesser house so a match would be out of the question, but he was kind and he was sweet. It was a lovely first kiss.
